Thank you for your interest in the Compass Scholars Program Scholarship. Applications will be available starting February 2, 2026 for the Fall 2026 semester.
The Compass Scholars Program provides financial, academic, and professional development support for students pursuing a teaching career. Please review the criteria below to determine eligibility and maintain continued participation in the program.
Admission to the university is required before program application.

Scholarship Terms
Award Amount:
$2,500 per semester
Maximum Annual Award:
Up to $7,500 per academic year
Internship Support:
An additional $5,000 will be awarded during the semester the student completes their student teaching internship
Maximum Total Award:
Up to $27,500 over three years
New Students Only:
Open exclusively to first-time Compass Scholars pursuing teacher certification
Cohort Size Limit:
Limited to 25 new scholarships awarded per year
Enrollment Requirement:
Must be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours per semester)
Time to Degree:
Funding will be for no more than 3 years from entering program, although student might need more time to complete degree without additional Compass funding
Ongoing Eligibility:
Students must continue to meet all program criteria each semester to receive funding
Ongoing Eligibility Requirements
Academic Performance
Maintain a 2.5 or higher Institutional GPA
Maintain a 2.75 or higher GPA in teaching field courses
Career Commitment
Must be actively pursuing a career as a teacher (teacher certification programs only)
Financial Aid
Must have a current FAFSA on file with the institution
Professional Development
Attend at least one Compass Scholars “Academy” (professional development session) each semester
Academic Advising
Meet with an academic advisor at least once per semester
